Fulfilling the promise of childhood

The Child Educational Center (CEC), like many non-profit educational organizations, has experienced unprecedented challenges during the past two and a half years of the COVID-19 pandemic. As we look towards the future, we are proud to share that the organization is in a strong position. Most importantly, the high-quality care children receive across all the CEC’s programs continues a long legacy of nurturing the physical and social-emotional well-being of our children.

While the COVID-19 pandemic made physical gatherings limited, the CEC is excited to bring back as many in-person gatherings as the prevailing conditions allow in the coming program year. We look forward to room cohorts reconnecting, through events like the beloved annual Pancake Breakfast. We also look forward to the CEC continuing its active role in professional development, so that children and educators in other early learning settings can benefit from the experiences of the CEC. Generous contributions to the Annual Fund, Tuition Assistance Endowment, and Teachers’ Endowment are taking the CEC to greater heights and supporting more children, families, and educators.

Our continuity of care reaches back over four decades.  Children who attended the CEC in decades past have are now returning to the CEC as parents, so that their own children can experience this nurturing and caring environment.

Looking to the Future

As the CEC contemplates its next forty years, the CEC’s Board of Trustees and Leadership Team have adopted new mission and vision statements, as well as a Strategic Plan, which will guide the organization through 2027. We understand that achieving our vision will take the collective efforts of the entire CEC community. Teachers, parents, staff, volunteers, and donors are what make the CEC such a caring and supportive environment. Therefore, we are excited for you to read more about these plans in the following pages.

It is with our deepest gratitude for the continued support of every member of this community. The spirit of joy, curiosity, compassion, and community continually inspires the work of the CEC.
